Kerrypress XML XyEnterprise UK Typesetters - The Next Generation

The future continuity of this family run business is ensured by the
younger generation of the Conquest and Craig clans.

Phillip's daughter Lyndsey Millar is snapping at his heels as Technical and System Administration, whilst Ian's sons Darren and Alan are developing their skills towards the Production and Production Control side of the business.

Over the past 20 years we have expanded the company to become a leading force in Typesetting and Data Conversion.

Way back in 1987 we totally updated our equipment to the then state of the art AM Varityper Epic typesetting system. This system was still in daily use in early 2000 and had proved to have been an excellent choice, and was indeed still able to cope with the very heavy demands we made of it.

However, technology moves on, and with the introduction of very fast Unix based server systems, combined with the latest software technology in batch pagination of books and looseleaf publications, we felt that the time had come to allow the Epic system to go into a well earned retirement.

We therefore installed a new typesetting system in 1996 based around a Sun Blade 1000 running dedicated Xyenterprise Typesetting System and utilising our existing Apple Macintosh computers as X-Terminals.

The XPP system is backed up by a full support contract giving us access to the constant updating and revisions which are supplied by Xyenterprise.

We also offer a full Desk Top Publishing and Design service to our customers utilising both Apple Macintosh and Windows systems, and we are happy to produce work either from customers edited disks, or indeed to supplydata for work already produced back to customers for editing in-house.

We are also very adept at Word Processor translation having our own Intermedia 4000 multi-disk reader, and we have had a great deal of success in this field producing some 50,000 pages per year by this method.

The directors and staff are always available for technical advice and discussion and we look forward to hearing from you.
