Kerrypress Ltd was formed in 1982 by brothers-in-law Phil Conquest and Ian Craig as a book and journal typesetters, specialising mainly in Law and Tax books. Phil and Ian are both ex compositors and have 80 years experience in the trade between them, they have seen the industry grow from the days of lynotype and punched paper tape to the electronic computer based processes we use to day.

Since the humble first years of the company the business has expanded and now, 27 years on, caters for every aspect of the Publishing industry, successfuly setting titles in the Academic, Statistical and Religious sectors alongside Biographies, Childrens books and many more. They are now proud to have become a leading force in Typesetting and Data Conversion.

Because they are a family owned and run business, their team is a tight knit and productive one, offering a unique and personalised service to all their customers. The second generation of the Craig and Conquest families ensures the values and ideals the company was originally built around, continue into the future.

Darren Craig, Ian’s son, joined the team in 1993, and has been working in the product control and project management side of the business ever since. Darren previously worked for a large printers dealing with national newspapers so understands the importance of deadlines.

In 1998 Phil’s daughter Lyndsey Millar joined the team and now has a key role within the Technical and System Administration side of the business. Lyndsey has a background of computer programming, so picking up how the XyEnterprise system worked was no problem and her knowledge has gone from strength to strength.

Shortly after Lyndsey, Ian’s second son, Alan, joined the team. Alan has a background in graphic design so has a keen eye for detail and a vast knowledge of publishing and designed based packages. Alan is very much a people person and also helps manage the sales and customer relations side of the business.

Including the family members the kerrypress team is now 12 strong with some new and some longstanding employees coming from a wide range of printing, typesetting and design backgrounds.

Kerrypress has always been happy to expand their team when necessary to ensure they continue to provide the excellent quality service that has become synonymous with their name.
